You might recall news of Katie Hamilton joining the Real Housewives of Orange County, Katie who was suppose to be the second new housewife left the show after news broke of her and her husbands divorce. Although casting news has never really been explained in detail before, On June 7, the O.C. Register offered the following to its readers.
“We had expected two new housewives. Although Bravo never discusses casting of its reality series in advance of the seasons, it was widely reported by celebrity news sites that Katie Hamilton, wife of former Angels player Josh Hamilton, would also join the cast. However, the couple’s divorce and Josh Hamilton’s drug relapse and subsequent trade to the Texas Rangers apparently led Katie Hamilton to withdraw.”
This may explain why we haven’t seen Katie in any of the Orange County’s promotion material. Katie Hamilton’s husband not only had a relapse on cocaine but Josh also has filed for divorce. Yahoo sports has released the following statement concerning what happened with Josh.
“Hamilton has told people his latest spiral began around Super Bowl weekend after a fight with his wife. Because he cannot carry cash or credit cards, Hamilton wrote himself a check to cash. He wound up at a strip club and used cocaine.”
Katie is reportedly focusing all of her time on her kids right now, even missing the Real Housewives of Orange County finale which was filmed only a few weeks ago. Bravo TV executives probably aren’t to happy about this, and it would make sense that they wouldn’t promote her on the show if shes only in a few episodes.
